the first two collages i think i've ever made. i found it enormously interesting to pick up other people's disposable collateral and make new (redeemed?) interest from them. i also enjoyed taping / pasting refuse from the collage process onto the composition. collages are fantastic opportunities for exploring texture.these two collages are companion pieces, the first addressing profit-motivated industrial modernity (a little expected, i know). but the second is a conceptual alternative to that complicated issue.
approx. 5" x 8" each, tape, adhesive, string, paper, vellum and bark on board (hard-covers from one book)
